Dadan Series no.1 "O-Kyo"

~for Multiple Percussion~

(2019)

This Piece "O-Kyo" is a work, that I composed on myself for the third grade examinations in my college. T

hen, made several revisions and world premiered by myself on July 14, 2019.

My one feature is "I love to sing!”

I

think, that it's a very miracle to encounter with the Buddhist scriptures and the Sutras inspiration in composing this piece especially.

The composition of the Sutras has a wide variety of Buddhist views with an emphasis on "speaking."

At first, I recited a part of Hokekyo and Kanjyo from Nichiren-shu, and the second and third part (must-read) are Hannya-Shingyo from Jodo Shinshu and Mantra from Shingon-shu.

It's an interesting story that if you climb to the summit of the Mt. Fuji. For example, there are different routes, A is dirty, and route B seems like that the landscape isn’t good enough.

However, our fundamental aim is to reach the summit of the Mt. Fuji. That's why we should respect each other and take pride about our routes, choise with recognizing each other.

Actually, I wanted to tell you the most may be about world peace rather than Buddhism... Minoru Saito
